About
a year ago, I was on vacation sitting next to a father and
his son. We were on a bus tour looking at homes of the "rich
& famous." I couldn't help but overhear the conversation
taking place in the seat next to mine. It went something like
this: "Would you look at those houses, son... This
is as close as we'll ever get. Can you even imagine?"
While
listening, I was struck by the distinct difference in our
thinking. The father spoke to his son as if their life would
never give them that opportunity. Their fate was sealed, and
all they could do was look.
On
the other hand, I believed that if I wanted it and was willing
to work hard for it, I could achieve it some day.
If
you find yourself as the person gazing through the window
at what you'll never have, you need to change your mentality.
You need to begin to focus on what you can have,
and what you will achieve.
Attaining
success both financially and emotionally is possible with
a home-based business. It is up to you to go after it.

I think
Hal Urban says it best when he discusses life, money, success
and the ability to choose in his book, "Life's
Greatest Lessons: 20 Things that Matter." Mr. Urban writes:

Look

it or not, it's the result of choices: the choice to take

Reading
this statement was a defining moment for me. Life is
a series of choices. You can either sit back and take what
life deals you, or you can fight back, take charge, and determine
your own path.
If
you want and believe in something, you must take the next
step and go after it.
To
put this in perspective, I distinctly remember sitting with
a friend who was discussing her financial woes. This person
was stuck in a rut, both mentally and financially. I began
to discuss the possibility of a home-based business as a possible
outlet.
How did
my friend respond? By saying, "I hate to stay at home.
I could never do that… I would be bored to tears."
And, in the very next breath, she was complaining again about
not having enough money or job satisfaction.
So, there
you go. A choice was made. She chooses to let her current

a change to improve her future.
Life
should not be dictated to you. It is a series of choices.
